WHEN THE STARS WERE BRIGHTLY SHINING, AND FAINT PERFUMES THE AIR PERVADED

Opera in the Park is the perfect opportunity for families and friends to experience the magic of opera against the backdrop of Perth’s beautiful skyline under a dramatic night sky. The City of Perth has presented Opera in the Park for over two decades as an annual free gift to the people of Perth. With the support of Lotterywest the event in 2014 will be broadcast to nine regional centres, sharing the joy with thousands more living throughout Western Australia. Starring the virtuoso German soprano Anke Höppner as the tempestuous diva Tosca, Puccini’s music stirs the emotions as he weaves the tragic tale of Tosca, her lover the artist Cavaradossi, and their betrayer the evil chief of police Baron Scarpia.
