NEW OPERA WORKS
West Australian Opera’s focus on building artistic collaborations is critical in its ability to present challenging new works that stand as testaments to success, excellence and innovation.
From collaborations with the Perth International Arts Festival and Opera Australia on the presentation of Batavia (2003) to the more recent collaboration with Perth International Arts Festival, Houston Grand Opera and the Australian Youth Orchestra on Peter Grimes (2010).
2012 will mark another such significant partnership for West Australian Opera, joining with ThinIce, Perth International Arts Festival and Opera Australia in presenting a new production of Richard Strauss’ Elektra, directed by Matthew Lutton and conducted by Richard Mills.
This production has been made possible through the Major Production Fund provided by the State Government through the Department of Culture and the Arts and numerous donors in The Elektra Circle.

This project is assisted by the Western Australian Government
through the Department of Culture and the Arts. |
