"Opera enriches our community, inspiring and reflecting its audience’s capacity for life and life-changing experiences. It has been, throughout its history, both an expression and a measure of the energy, power of achievement and vitality of a community. Opera is a window on the marvellous, an experience which has the potential to enrich the lives of all who participate in its magic.

The link with our community, through our donors and supporters, is vital to our current and future success. We are committed to strengthening our connection with individuals who support opera and wish to become a part of the West Australian Opera family, its artists and staff, its goals and aspirations."

PRIVATE GIVING PROGRAM

Our Private Giving Program is a way you can personally assist West Australian Opera to continue to grow. Over the last five years the program has gone from strength to strength and we would like to thank all our donors for their consistent contributions and generosity. It is this generosity which helps us achieve our mission: to produce worldclass opera that remains affordable and accessible to the widest possible audience. We couldn’t do it without you.

Opera is an expensive business. Even with healthy ticket sales, the expense of producing opera at a quality performance standard cannot be covered by box office and public funding alone. To support, nurture and develop our talented West Australian singers and to deliver an accessible and exciting program to West Australian audiences, we need the support of our community of donors.

IT'S YOUR OPERA

If you would like to be an important part of West Australian Opera, you can become one of our valued donors, and there a number of ways you can help.

Annual Giving Program
Our Annual Giving Program supports the company’s ability to

  • present 3 fully staged operas each year featuring a mix of local, national and international artists

  • strengthen our education initiatives and introduce children to live opera

  • present a free “Opera in the Park” event to 15,000 people each year also broadcast live to the regions

  • tour extensively to regional centres throughout the state

  • develop our young artists through our Young Artist Program that includes residencies with visiting international artists, language and diction coaching, private singing lessons, movement choreography, acting and character development.

Donors enjoy a special relationship with West Australian Opera and are offered unique opportunities to attend open rehearsals and special events

with principal artists and are kept up to date with latest news through regular communication. All donations of $2 or more are fully tax deductible.
