Support West Australian Opera's new production of Elektra.

In February 2012, West Australian Opera, ThinIce, Perth International Arts Festival and Opera Australia collaborate to present Elektra, an opera by Richard Strauss. This is a new production from talented young WA theatre-maker and director Mathew Lutton (2010 WA Citizen of the Year – Youth Arts Award) and conducted by Richard Mills AM (Artistic Director of West Australian Opera, acclaimed composer and The Ring conductor 2013).
This project is of such a scale that it requires donor and sponsor support to achieve its full potential. A bold, daring initiative, Elektra will demonstrate that West Australian arts companies can make important work for the world stage, can aspire to and achieve international standards of excellence and can enrich the profile and identity of Perth.
One of Western civilization’s greatest stories of love and revenge, this new Elektra is groundbreaking, requiring a greatly expanded orchestra and a dramatic set built in Perth by ArtsWorkshop. It is also an opportunity for West Australian artists to work alongside some of the world’s most recognised singers. To help make this a reality we need our family of supporters to join with us in this creative adventure.
