ANNE WATSON

It was the Entertainment Centre,  Act 2,  Mikado with June Bronhill as Yum Yum  The chorus had just finished as we heard  noises like hailstone on the roof.  They were the ‘nails’ holding up the screen on the roof and they began  tumbling down onto the stage.   Eventually the screen holder, an 18 foot long steel screen, came tumbling down onto the stage  and swiped me on the shoulder, knocking me out. I was taken by ambulance to RPH emergency where one of the doctors happened to have been in the audience. There I was in full Japanese costume and makeup.  I was subsequently sent home but after a visit to my GP I discovered I had 2 fractured ribs.  Nethertheless I was back on stage on Monday night (in agony) but the show must go on!!
