In celebration of WAO's 50th anniversary our partners UWA School of Music are proud to invite Dr Richard Mills to deliver the 2017 Callaway Lecture.

Richard was artistic director of WAO for 15 years between 1997 and 2012 and is one of Australia’s most prolific and internationally recognised composers who pursues a diverse career as a composer, conductor and artistic director.

The sun was certainly shining in Dongara as our artists prepared to perform to over 300 students at Dongara District High School. Today we are headed to Mullewa and performing to students at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Mullewa District High School to present Smarter than Smoking Our Opera Our WA. This school incursion is suitable for students of all ages and takes them on a musical journey of how our touring artists began their operatic careers, reveal who their role models are and their dreams for the future.
