ABOUT THE SHOW
Presented by Australian Baroque and West Australian Opera
Vivaldi captured four seasons. Noongar Country holds six.
The Six Seasons is a landmark new work of six concertos by Noongar composer Aaron Wyatt and six new poems by poet Gina Williams-Ghouse AM, performed by Australian Baroque with violin soloist Helen Kruger, in collaboration with West Australian Opera. The work, traces the Noongar seasons of the south-west — Birak, Bunuru, Djeran, Makuru, Djilba and Kambarang — as heat gathers, rain arrives, and the land transforms.
This is not Vivaldi translated. It’s a joyous meeting of cultures & traditions that creates something deeply meaningful, emotional & beautiful.
“The most beautiful concert I have ever been to, I cried with joy ” —Audience member, Albany
