VOCAL AND LANGUAGE COACH

LISA HARPER-BROWN

Critically acclaimed as ‘radiant both vocally and visually‘, Lisa Harper-Brown is a unique and commanding performer. Lisa made her debut for Opera Australia singing Pamina in The Magic Flute. Since then performances including Fiordiligi in Così fan Tutte, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, and Elsa in Lohengrin, have delighted both critics and audiences alike, culminating in a prestigious Helpmann Award for her portrayal of Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro.

Possessing a vast concert repertoire, and recognised for her ability to cross genres and styles, Lisa is a highly regarded concert, festival and recital performer, having appeared throughout Australia, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and New Zealand. Her most recent musical collaboration saw her joining forces with Japanese Marimbist, Naoto Segawa, in Epiphanies: performing traditional vocal repertoire which has been reinvented for new musical landscapes. Plans for touring Epiphanies in Festivals throughout the Asia Pacific are currently in progress.

Lisa is heard regularly in ABC Classic FM's Sunday Live! Series and on Radio NZ Concert, has recorded many new works with NZSO, and has released two CDs dedicated to Australian Art Song. She currently divides her time between her performing commitments and her other passion: teaching. Having taught in a variety of educational settings, Lisa’s extensive ‘on-stage’ experience, research into many schools of Vocal Pedagogy and language proficiency make her a highly sought-after Voice Teacher, Choral Trainer and Conductor, and Adjudicator.
