Strauss, Die Fledermaus- Act II, Finale, Champagne

I thought to kick of this playlist with a BANG and nothing suited better than Strauss’s ultimate party song. I was lucky enough to perform Die Fledermaus in my final year at WAAPA under the incredible direction of Rachel McDonald. Playing Prince Orlofsky was such a dream and this whole show is filled with memories I am so grateful to have.

Kurt Weill, Calefax Reed Quintet- Youkali

I live with a Classical Saxophonist, so there’s always music playing in our house, usually his choice, usually 20th century, so when one day this was playing in the living room, I was so intrigued. I convinced a close group of friends in a reed quintet to perform this with me and I’m so glad they said yes.

Elgar, They Are at Rest

I was a part of a performance of this piece the day Notre Dame was burning, the feeling in the cathedral during that performance will always be a part of me.

Massenet, Werther- Va! Laisse couler mes larmes

I love this aria! Charlotte is a dream role and I really hope to play her one day! I love the intensity and emotion in the first few notes of the work. There’s also a pretty cool saxophone solo which is just so great.

Vivaldi, Concerto for two Cello’s in G minor. Mvmt 1- Allegro

My first introduction to music was through my primary school’s string program, where I really wanted to play the violin, but I was one of the tall kids so I was given a Cello. I played all the way through school and into my first few years of Uni. I love this piece and could listen to it all day.

Mozart, Cosi Fan Tutti- Una Donna a quindici anni

I am so excited to be involved in WA Opera’s production of Cosi Fan Tutti! This is my first staged Opera production outside of Uni. Despina’s Act II aria is so cheeky and flirty and I can’t wait for audiences to see the magic being created on stage.

Massenet, Cendrillon- Ah! Douce enfant Another Massenet

can you tell he’s my favourite? This aria is pure magic. To me it’s everything Disney wish it could be, you can’t convince me those flutes aren’t being played by actual fairies. MAGIC!

David Bowie, Port of Amsterdam

Who doesn’t love Bowie! I was lucky enough to see this piece performed by someone I admire very much in a Cabaret in 2017. I learnt so much watching this performance and it really opened my mind to what can be created with a shoestring budget, accordion player and a smoke machine.

Delibes, Lakmé- The Flower Duet

This one’s my mums’ favourite and I had to include it. I was lucky enough to perform this with the incredible Emma Matthews for Maestro Richard Bonynge in 2019, what a dream come true!

Iron and Wine- Flightless Bird, American Mouth

Last one, and this is dedicated to my one true love, Edward Cullen. I watched the Twilight Saga about 15 times whilst we were in lockdown and it really had me appreciating the soundtrack.
