In celebration of Opera Month in the City of Perth, West Australian Opera and Mary Street Bakery have come together to create a delicious duet — the Opera Cake Donut.
Inspired by the classic French Opera Cake, this indulgent creation pays homage to the elegance of the Parisian Opéra Garnier. Originally crafted by pastry chef Cyriaque Gavillon, the dessert was named by his wife, Andrée, who thought its beautiful layers resembled the grand steps of the opera house.
Mary Street Bakery brings its signature flair to this timeless treat, reimagining it as the Opera Cake Donut — rich, layered, and irresistibly delicious.
